I took an old white cotton napkin and laid it on a transparency then saturated it with a white glue and water mixture. On top of that I placed scraps of paper and material and added more of the glue mixture. Then the final layer was white tissue paper and more of the glue mixture. I left this to dry overnight, then peeled the fabric paper off the transparency and ironed it flat. I will then use the sewing machine to sew some straight lines in a grid pattern. Once that is done, the paper will be ready to use in collage- I will be able to cut it up into any shape I want or to create embellishments to add interest to a piece. It can also be used without sewing any lines.
Below is a sample of two of the pieces I did.
